Event Description:
Walk Strong to Cure JM
Small Steps. Big Impact.
Cure JM families and friends come together across the country to take meaningful steps toward better treatments and a cure for juvenile myositis. When we walk together, we celebrate strength, hope, and the power of community.
Each walk features food, fun, and friendship, creating an inclusive experience for the whole family—children, teens, and young adults included. These events are designed to foster connection, offer support, and remind every family that they are not alone.
The Walk Strong to Cure JM series is Cure JM’s signature fundraising effort and has raised more than $4.5 million to advance critical JM research. Every dollar truly makes a difference, helping ensure promising research continues and progress moves forward.
Your participation fuels our mission and helps create a future where better treatments—and ultimately a cure—are within reach.

- Mark the Walk Route (Cheer Squad): Cheer on, encourage & help our families along the route!
- Snack Squad (Snack, Drink & Coffee Stations): Help pass out snacks, drinks & coffee during the event.
- Ribbon Holders: Help hold the ends of the ribbon for the walk kick-off & ribbon cutting!
- Yard Games Support: Help people engage, teach people to play games, and have fun!
- Craft Table Support: Help participants learn how to make their crafts.

Cure JM Foundation:
Juvenile myositis (JM) involves a run-away immune response where the body’s immune system attacks its own cells and tissues. Founded in 2003, Cure JM is powered by a community of families who have successfully navigated the JM journey and help to connect other families with a network of support, encouragement, and resources.
