Executive Director


Melissa Ganley - Executive Director

Melissa brings over 10 years of nonprofit experience, both as an employee and a volunteer, to her work with One Brick. Over the course of her career she has focused on nonprofit operations, volunteer recruitment and training, and human resources. Additionally she has spent time as a Girl Scout troop leader and an event chair for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. In 2011 she joined the founding team to launch the Boston Chapter of One Brick, later becoming the Chapter Director. She brings both experience and passion to her role as the Executive Director. Outside of her passion for volunteerism, Melissa is a craft beer nerd, food enthusiast, reader, and lover of the arts. She spends her free time visiting breweries, checking out new restaurants, reading, and enjoying various art forms in local museums and theatres.


Board of Directors

Brian Brian Gee - Founder, Chairman
Brian is a founder and board member of One Brick.  His background is in software, high tech, and consulting.  Brian has had a number of management roles in software companies, was a consultant at McKinsey & Company, and bounced around a number of startups in Silicon Valley during the dot-com boom.  Brian holds both an MBA and a MA in International Affairs from Columbia University and a BS in Physics from Harvey Mudd College.
Dave Dave Shefferman - Founder, Treasurer
Dave is a founding member of the One Brick Board of Directors. Dave's background is in product management, business strategy and consulting. Dave is a technology evangelist who has leveraged technology to increase business efficiencies at AT&T/NCR, InformationWeek, E-LOAN and CafePress. In 2006, Dave received the prestigious "Jefferson Awards for Public Service" from the American Institute for Public Service. Dave holds a BA in Marketing from Hofstra University.
Clive Clive Charlwood - Secretary
Clive's background is in technology development and business management. He started volunteering with One Brick in 2004 and served as Executive Director from 2005 through 2015. Prior to joining One Brick, Clive worked in a number of senior management positions at Synopsys Inc. His most recent position was Senior Director, Marketing and Business Development. Prior to this, he served as Senior Director, Research and Development. Clive holds a BSC in Computer Science, Operational Research and Statistics from the University of Kent at Canterbury, UK.

Chapter Directors

Nevin Nevin Cheung - San Francisco

Nevin’s first One Brick volunteering event was at the San Francisco Food Bank in 2006, and joined the event management team in 2012. Nevin is an IT professional in the biotechnology industry, specializing in High Performance Computing. He has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley. Nevin enjoys travel, photography, and being shot at with a 5 ounce hockey puck at least twice a week.

Vince Vince Fuentes  - New York
Vince began volutneering with One Brick in 2005 with One Brick Chicago. He became an Event Coordinator then Manager after a year, and enjoyed building the chapter for a few years before traveling to China and settling in Washington DC. For a year Vince was part of the One Brick DC Exec-Team before picking up once again for graduate school. After a few years Vince returned to Chicago, rejoining their Exec Team before landing in New York to lead an education program at an international non-profit. In October 2016 Vince became the NYC Chapter Director. Vince has a bachelor's and master's degree in International Affairs. Vince enjoys running, boxing, traveling, reading, Chicago sports and craft beer. 
Polly Polly Ho - Chicago
Polly moved to Chicago from Baton Rouge in 2005. Like most of us she found it hard to meet new people in the big city. That's where One Brick came in. Polly started as a volunteer and was soon "talent spotted" by Amy S and encouraged to step forward as an Event Coordinator. After playing hard to get for a few months Polly finally gave in to Amy's persistent requests and said yes!. Since then she's taken on a series of responsibilities including Director of Special Events and and Director of Leadership Development. When's she's not One Brickin' Polly can be found in the outdoor kitchen business.
Ledy Ledy Espinal - Washington, DC
Ledy began volunteering with One Brick in early 2009, she assumed the Chapter Director role in February of 2014. She is a Human Resources Professional specializing in Employee Benefits. Ledy is currently working on finishing up her BA in Leadership with a concentration in Management from Patten University and is looking forward to beginning her MBA. As a native Washingtonian, Ledy loves her community and when she is not volunteering with One Brick you can find her around town participating in community events. She recently became a certified PADI Open Water Diver. In the summer you will mostly find her in the water, either whitewater rafting or working on her diving skills towards her Advanced Open Water Diver Certification.
Jeanette Jeannette Roden - Seattle
Jeannette began volunteering with One Brick in April 2010 and assumed the chapter director role in July 2011. As an IT consultant specializing in enterprise architecture and data management, she holds multiple IT certifications including CDMP, CBIP, MCDBA, MCSD, and MCSE. Jeannette also works part-time at the Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience and is well-versed in non-profit operations and management. She has attended the University of Washington, Central Washington University, Edmonds Community College, and North Seattle Community College, earning multiple degrees and certificates in computer science, information technology, and business administration. Jeannette is a third-degree black belt and TKD instructor, tournament judge and center referee.
Holly Holly Nielsen - Silicon Valley
Holly began volunteering and managing events with One Brick in 2009 after a three year stint on the board of directors for a different Silicon Valley volunteer organization. She's a social strategist with IBM, has two patents to her name, co-authored a book and is developing an online social media class. In her spare time (spare as it is), you'll find Holly reading, whale watching, wine tasting, hanging out with her furry critters, or jazzercising.
Graham Graham Porell - Boston
Graham has been part of the One Brick Boston Executive Team since its inception in the fall of 2011. After 3+ years of serving on the Volunteer Relations team, Graham assumed the role of Chapter Director in August 2015. He works for a State Agency that assists individuals with disabilities, and specializes in research, program evaluation, and data analysis. Graham has a MS in Urban Policy Analysis and Management from The New School, a BA in Social Science from Bennington College, and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in South Africa from 2004 to 2005. Outside of volunteering he enjoys being outdoors, traveling, running, exploring new places, golf, and following Boston sports teams.


Kate Martin - One Brick Builds

Kate has been volunteering in the SF Bay Area since 2009 and was a founding member of the Silicon Valley chapter. After serving various roles in local chapters and organising many volunteer trips to New Orleans Kate assumed the role of Chapter Director of the new One Brick Builds chapter offering service trips in various US locations affected by storm damage.  Kate holds a BA in French, German and International Business and is currently a Senior Sales Manager in the semiconductor field. Outside of volunteering Kate is a competitive Masters rower, enjoys good food, beer, hiking, travelling and following Bay Area sports teams.
