Event Description:
For generations, Walk for Rice brings people and communities together to raise funds for the ACRS (Asian Counseling and Referral Services) Food Bank in Seattle's Chinatown-International District and ACRS's nutrition program, bringing awareness about food insecurity in Asian and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (ANHPI) communities. The fundraising campaign kicks off in the spring and culminates in a multicultural community celebration and three-mile walk at Seward Park in June.
Asian Counseling & Referral Services (ACRS) Food Bank helps supply over 1 million pounds of culturally appropriate foods to 5,000+ low-income Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander individuals and households in King County. Our annual Walk for Rice raises money to help the ACRS Food Bank purchase rice and other requested Asian food supplies that are culturally appropriate for our clients.
