Event Description:

room

Room to Grow provides parents raising babies in poverty with one-on-one parenting support and essential baby items for their child's critical first three years of development. We rely on volunteers to count, sort and display the hundreds of donations we receive every day.

What we'll be doing:

Volunteers will be checking (i.e. playing with) toys, folding and shelving baby clothes, and organizing our client space so that it stays beautiful for the families we serve.

This is an easy, fun, way to contribute to the lives of children living in poverty!! Our program serves babies aged 0-3 and the work you do will help ensure that these babies have all of the books, toys, clothes, and supplies they need to have an awesome start in life. There isn't usually heavy lifting involved (unless you want to!!) and you don't have to worry about getting dirty.

NOTE: This event is wheelchair accessible.

Room to Grow:

Room to Grow's vision is that one day all parents will have the resources they need to unlock their family's potential and become champions for babies and their community. We offer structured coaching, material goods, and community connections to support parents as they activate their natural strengths and expand their knowledge so children thrive from the start.

Families are referred to Room to Grow by their healthcare provider during pregnancy. Upon their referral, families Room to Grow every three months from just before the birth of the baby until their child turns three. During their one-on-one appointments with our staff social workers, typically lasting two hours, parents receive structured coaching, material goods, and community connections.
