Event Description:

Confused? You have the right to be as Redwood City is usually posted under the One Brick Silicon Valley chapter, just not in this case!

THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL ONE BRICK PROJECT BUT BECAUSE SO MANY OF OUR SAN FRANCISCO AND SILICON VALLEY CHAPTER VOLUNTEERS TAKE PART EACH YEAR WE HAVE LISTED IT ONTO OUR CALENDAR SO THEY CAN EARN VOLUNTEER HOURS FOR THEIR SOMETIMES LONG SHIFTS.

If you enjoy visiting one of Redwood City's parks on Saturday, eating food truck fare, and listening to live music, then you'll enjoy volunteering at Pub in the Park. Volunteers spend a shift serving locally brewed beers.

Ready to combine your love for the outdoors, great music, and community spirit with the fun of serving thirst-quenching local brews?

Volunteer for Pub in the Park! The Redwood City Parks, Recreation, and Community Services and the Redwood City Parks and Arts Foundation are teaming to host FOUR fantastic Pub in the Park events this summer at Red Morton Park, and we need your energy to make them a success.

There are two volunteer shifts available at each event: 10:30 AM - 1:45 PM and 1:30 PM - 4:00 PM.

Please sign up at the OFFICIAL VOLUNTEER LINK here.

  • You must be 21 years or older to participate
  • Each volunteer must sign up individually
  • Only sign up if you can commit to the ENTIRE SHIFT

In addition:

  • If the number of shifts available on the One Brick listing is exhausted and there is still space on the official signup link please email the One Brick event manager to open up another space for you.
  • If you have signed up for both shifts and would like those hours be included on your One Brick profile please inform the One Brick event manager in the Notes section when you RSVP.

What we'll be doing:

Volunteers are needed for 3 tasks to be assigned by the RWCPAF liaison at the beginning of your shift:

  • Beer sales - you will work the registers and help patrons decide what beer they'd like to order
  • Beer runners - facilitate the movement of the filled beer cup to the register where the beer was ordered
  • Beer pourers - you will be assigned to 1 or 2 taps and will be responsible for the majority of the pours coming from those taps assigned to you

What you should know:

If pouring is being considered by you wear clothes and shoes you don't mind getting wet with beer because kegs will blow when empty and you will have a beer bath (exaggerated).

Please wear comfortable shoes.

Please drink responsibly!  Don't be that one volunteer that Redwood City Police has to remove from the premises!

The One Brick event manager will be present for the entire first shift and the start of the second shift only.

Where to Meet:

Look for the gigantic inflatable "house" located near the Magical Bridge section of Red Morton Park and check in with the RWCPAF liaison.

Redwood City Parks & Arts Foundation:

The Redwood City Parks and Arts Foundation's mission is to advocate, advance, and develop support for parks, recreational programming, community services, cultural activities, and the arts in Redwood City and surrounding unincorporated areas.
