Event Description:

Celebrate the Market! is a celebration & fundraiser for the Pike Place Market Foundation to support the strength & resiliency of this community as we come together to keep our Market strong now for generations to come. Paid tickets include a Market-sourced dinner, drinks, entertainment, and an inspiring program. Guests are asked to make a gift of personal significance to support the Pike Place Market Foundation and our mission to nuture a thriving Market community so that everyone within it can live their best life possible.

What we'll be doing:

Volunteer needs may change during the event, so please prepare to be flexible and able to switch between roles during the event as needed. Under the direction of your team leader, Bar Team volunteers will help to prep & serve drinks to guests.

What you should know:

Celebrate the Market! is a 21+ event, which includes our volunteers. You must be at least 21 years old to volunteer for this shift - please bring your ID!

Celebrate the Market! is held on the Pike Place MarketFront Pavilion (which is partially covered with open walls). Dress code for volunteers is “Market Fancy” all black attire (e.g. one step up from casual, but not semi-formal... all black business or cocktail wear would be appropriate), but please wear comfortable clothes & shoes that are appropriate for the weather. If you already own a 2024 Pike Place Market Foundation volunteer t-shirt, feel free to wear it to the event. Otherwise, volunteers will be able to pick up your t-shirt up when you check in for your shift. Please wear black pants/skirt/shorts and black shoes if possible. Thanks!

If applicable, please include the following information in the optional "message for the event managers" section of your RSVP:

  • Most Celebrate the Market! roles will require some physical work (walking and/or standing on concrete floors; bending, lifting, and/or carrying). If you have any physical restrictions, please include these in the message section of your RSVP.
  • Dinner will be provided for volunteers (please note that consuming alcoholic beverages while volunteering is not allowed). If you have any food allergies or sensitivities, please include these in the message section of your RSVP.

Where to Meet:

Volunteers should check in at Volunteer HQ on the 3rd floor of the Pike Place MarketFront. Look for the big white tent located near Pike Place Market towards the waterfront, above and behind the Old Stove Brewing Co's front door. You'll sign in, get your name tag, and receive training on your role assignment. Please remember to check out at in this same area after our shift is over.

Pike Place Market Foundation:

Pike Place Market Foundation supports the heart of the Market - its people. By helping our neighbors who work, learn, and live in and around the Market, the Foundation's mission is to nuture a thriving Market community.

Established in 1982, The Market Foundation has granted more than $40 million to provide housing, healthcare, healthy food, childcare and a community of support to our downtown and Market neighbors. Over the past 40 years, The Market Foundation has contributed to a neighborhood model that allows a diverse community to live and thrive here at Pike Place Market.

We are guided by the following values: Collaboration, inclusion, respect, optimism and gratitude.
