Event Description:

The Wing Luke Museum's Annual Auction & Dinner returns on Saturday, March 22nd, but auction materials need to be prepared beforehand. This annual fundraiser supports innovative museum programming and exhibits such as the award-winning YouthCAN teen program and the Bruce Lee exhibit.

What we'll be doing:

Volunteers will be assembling and packing registration materials for auction attendees in the Wing Luke Museum's Community Hall.

What you should know:

Takeaway dinner, snacks, and drinks will be provided for volunteers. The Wing also provides volunteer benefits throughout the year, including reciprocal admission during National Volunteer Week and volunteer discounts at The Wing! Please note that the museum will need you to provide your email address in order to register for volunteer benefits. :)

Physical Requirements: Volunteers should be able to stand, walk, sit, and perform light lifting, reaching, and assembly for this shift.

Getting Here: Please see this page for help with transportation and parking (at this time, the museum is unable to provide compensation for transportation costs).

Entrance: The entrance to the museum is located on S King St in between 7th Ave S and 8th Ave S (719 S King St).

Personal Items: Volunteers can bring coats & small personal items inside, but please keep valuables with you.

What to Wear: Dress code is casual (this volunteer shift is inside the museum inside the large Community Hall).

Family Friendly Volunteer Info: Let us know in the RSVP notes if you are bringing any volunteers under 18.

Where to Meet:

The auction work party will be in the Community Hall on the 1st floor. The museum closes to the public at 5:00 pm.

If arriving before 5:00 pm, the front door of the museum (located on S King St between 7th Ave S and 8th Ave S) will be unlocked and museum staff will direct you to the Community Hall on the 1st floor. If arriving after 5:00 pm, the front door will be locked but a staff member will let volunteers in.

The Wing Luke Museum is a National Park Service Affiliated Area, the first Smithsonian Affiliate in the Pacific Northwest, and the nation's only museum devoted to the pan-Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) experience.
