Event Description:

Crescendo honors champions who support the LGBTQIA+ community and advance LGBTQIA+ equality through their commitment to change, their leadership and their actions. Join us on April 5th, 2025, at the iconic Westin St. Francis Hotel in Union Square for a night that promises to be both dazzling and impactful. Save the date and prepare to be part of an event that truly makes a difference.  This year's honorees to be announced.

The evening will include performances by the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus and surprise guest appearances. Guests will be welcomed for festive cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a multicourse gourmet seated dinner complete with live music, awards and a fabulous live auction. The evening concludes with a champagne and dessert reception where guests will toast to an unforgettable night.

In addition to RSVPing on the One Brick site please click on the following link to register and choose your preferred tasks and shifts.  (Scroll to the bottom of the page to see the choices for Crescendo.) Once assigned and confirmed One Brick will work with the SFGMC volunteer coordinator to credit you for the hours necessary to fulfill your shift(s). 

*Volunteers are welcome to sign up for the Step and Repeat Setup role from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and/or the After-Party Check-in role from 8:30 pm to 10:00 pm, but please note that the One Brick event manager is only obligated to be on site from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm.  Remember, we are volunteers as well.  We will work with the SFGMC volunteer coordinator to make certain you are credited for your specific volunteer hours.

What we'll be doing:

One Brick volunteers will be assigned to one or more of the following tasks based on their own choosing:

  • Step & Repeat Setup (1:00 pm to 3:00 pm)*
  • Ballroom Setup (3:00 pm to 5:00 pm)
  • Greeter (3:30 pm to 7:00 pm)
  • Live Auction Spotter (7:00 pm to 9:00 pm)
  • After-Party Check-in (8:30 pm to 10:00 pm)*

You MUST be able to complete an entire shift.  DO NOT sign up for a task you can not fulfill in its entirety.  No exceptions.

What you should know:

There are various volunteer shift times and roles available in support of this event. No prior experience is required. Volunteers must be friendly, professional, and comfortable actively engaging with patrons.

No prior experience is required. If you plan to participate in the event as a PERFORMER or TICKETED PATRON, you may NOT sign up to also volunteer as the shift/duties overlap and will prevent your participation in any other capacity.

DRESS CODE: Cocktail attire. No jeans or t-shirts please. No revealing clothing. Please wear comfortable shoes.

DINNER: A meal will be provided in the staff/volunteer room for volunteers who meet a specific criteria based on hours served.  This year's criteria is 3+ hours volunteered.

PLEASE NOTE: This volunteer shift does NOT include a comp ticket to or official seat at this event. Volunteers may be able to view the program while standing/assisting, to whatever extent their specific shift allows.

For over 40 years, the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus has courageously served as the international standard bearer for a powerful and accomplished mix of high-caliber performance, human rights, community activism, empowerment, and inclusiveness, establishing it as an icon among LGBTQIA+ organizations. Founded in 1978, it was the first organization of its kind and is credited with starting the LGBTQIA+ choral movement, galvanizing and changing the course of LGBTQIA+ history.
