Event Description:

The annual Silent and Live Auction Gala is the main fundraiser for the Friends of Alamo Foundation. It is a wonderful opportunity for parents and faculty to socialize and shop for a great cause, our children's education. The evening starts with a silent auction and concludes with some entertainment and then the live auction. Funds raised by the Friends of Alamo Foundation pay for the school's vocal music and physical education programs.
What we'll be doing:
One Brick will be helping with the auction by setting up, serving food to guests, selling raffle tickets, and helping close out the silent auction in an effort to have the event run smoothly.
What you should know:
Dinner will be provided. The event is dressy but not black tie; business casual is fine. Wear comfortable shoes. We will meet the volunteers at the front door of the church and escort them back where they need to be.
Friends of Alamo School Foundation:
The Friends of Alamo School Foundation (FASF) was established over ten years ago to support the school's programs that were cut due to lack of district funding. Since then, FASF has raised the funds to support a wide variety of arts programming: ceramics, Shakespeare in the schools, the Poets in Schools program, and World Dance.
In addition, due to the fundraising, it is the only SF public elementary school with a vocal music program. It is so popular, that our school currently has two choruses. The vocal and music program is brought into the classroom at all grade levels. FASF has also supported a physical education program that is so widely successful that we were recognized by the governor's office for our school's physical fitness test achievements. We work in conjunction with the Alamo PTA on a variety of fundraising and community building events.
