Event Description:

This four-hour urban detective game is played on the streets of Chinatown, North Beach and Telegraph Hill during the Chinese New Year Parade by teams of amateur sleuths. Player fees benefit the SF Food Bank and SF Circus Center.

Teams solve 16 clues leading them to obscure landmarks, forgotten architectural delights and vestiges of San Francisco's colorful past. Teams often choose colorful names and occasionally come costumed for the event, taking inspiration from the Chinese calendar. 2010 is the Year of the Tiger. Prizes are awarded for those solving the most clues the quickest, and also for best team names and costumes.

One Brick will help set up materials and signage for the registration area, staff registration for the 1500+ players, hand out clue packets and maps, collect raffle slips, and help tend lines of registrants. Afterwards, volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in the hunt at no cost.

Chinese New Year Treasure Hunt:

San Francisco Treasure Hunts has produced the award-winning Chinese New Year Treasure Hunt for almost 20 years, donating proceeds to a rotating list of local nonprofits. SFTH also produces treasure hunts during the year for other organizations and training purposes.
