Come and show your appreciation for the hardworking San Francisco Recreation and Parks staff at this year's employee holiday event at the Marina Small Craft Harbor at 1 Marina Green Drive on Friday, December 13, 2024 from 4 pm to 8 pm.
This volunteer shift is from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm, but volunteers should arrive no later than 10:45 am. There will be several breaks throughout the shift and opportunities to mingle. Volunteer food will be provided.
Come volunteer with us on December 13th as part of the event crew for our annual Employee Holiday Party and the Lighted Boat Parade Holiday Event. We will need volunteer support throughout the event from 11 am - 9 pm broken down into two shifts, volunteers will get breaks in-between their shifts to enjoy the event as well. But will need hands on commitment for the set-up and breakdown portion of the event the most.
Public transportation or rideshare is highly encouraged.
What we'll be doing:
Volunteers are needed to set-up and breakdown decorations, tents, chairs, tables, chairs, welcome guests, check-in guests, provide event information, trash collection, oversee the toddler play area, and act as docent for the sensory jet experience and train rides and other activities.
What you should know:
Public transportation or rideshare is highly recommended.
- This event takes place entirely OUTDOORS!!
- As always, dress in layers and casual wear is ok.
- Wear comfortable closed-toed shoes.
- Rain is in the current forecast so please take that into consideration.
- Bring a reuseable water bottle to refill at water fountains as needed.
- Whatever snacks you need to feel satisfied.
Please pack lightly as there will not be a secure place to store belongings.
Face masks are up to the individual volunteer. If you are not feeling 100% healthy please stay home and rest.

San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department:
The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department administers more than 220 parks, playgrounds, and open spaces, including two outside the city limits-- Camp Mather in Yosemite Valley and Sharp Park in Pacifica, Calif. Our park system includes 25 recreation centers, nine swimming pools, five golf courses and numerous tennis courts, ball diamonds, soccer fields and other sports venues. Included in the department’s responsibilities are the Marina Yacht Harbor, the San Francisco Zoo, and Lake Merced.
