Come celebrate the holidays with us at the annual Yerba Buena Ice Skating Center – we will have the ice skating rink to ourselves, holiday snacks and a book giveaway. Skates will be provided for each guest, and wheelchairs are also welcome on the ice.
Families will come through in two waves 6:30pm to 7:30pm and 7:30pm to 8:30pm.
What we'll be doing:
Volunteers will assist Support for Families staff with:
- Registration / Check in
- Book Giveaway
- Ice Skate Rental
- Guest Skating Assistance (on ice, requires skating ability)
- Snack Table
- Clean Up
- Floater
What you should know:
Wear warm layers especially if you plan to assist children on the ice. If you have your own ice skates you are welcome to bring them.
Some of the activities will be outside on the lawn in front of the Yerba Buena Ice Center so it might be chilly inside and outside.

Support for Families:
Formerly Support for Families of Children with Disabilities (SFCD)
Founded in 1982, Support for Families is a parent-run San Francisco-based nonprofit organization. They support families of children with any kind of disability or special healthcare need as they face challenges. Their purpose is to ensure that families of children with any kind of disability or special health care need have the knowledge and assistance they need to make informed choices that support their child's health, education and development. They provide peer support to families, and information and education to families, professionals and the community at large.
