Event Description:
:
Each year the Lupus Foundation of America, DC/MD/VA Chapter hosts DC Walk for Lupus Now. Lupus patients and their supporters will walk down Pennsylvania Ave. to raise funds and raise awareness of this debilitating disease. The walk benefits over 80,000 people living with lupus in the VA, MD, and DC area by raising much needed funds for the Patient Navigation Program which LFA-DMV provides for free. The Patient Navigation Program enhances quality of life through health education programs and patient support services.
What we will be doing:
Volunteers will be entertaining the kids with face paint, projects, and snacks in the Kids’ Corner! Afterwards we will also assist in breakdown/clean-up tasks. Volunteers will meet at the Volunteer Tent located on the corner of 13th & Pennsylvania (north side of the block). Metro is advised as street parking will be very limited.
