Event Description:

Alviso Marina's Beautification Day provides volunteers the opportunity to help the park on a regular basis. Tasks may include non-native species removal, garden maintenance, storm damage clean-up and other beautification activities as needed.
What you should know:
No special skills are required. Work gloves and all necessary tools are provided for cleanup events. As this is an outdoor event we recommend dressing in layers, wearing closed-toe shoes, bringing along sunhat and sunscreen and a waterbottle.
Where to Meet:
Volunteers meet park staff at the Marina parking lot at 9 AM, The Marina is at the end of Mill St. in Alviso.
Santa Clara County Parks:
The mission of the Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Department is to provide, protect and preserve regional parklands for the enjoyment, education and inspiration of this and future generations. Santa Clara County acquired its first parkland in 1924, purchasing 400 acres near Cupertino. In 1956, the Department of Parks and Recreation was formed. Currently, the regional parks system has expanded to 27 park units encompassing nearly 45,000 acres.
