Event Description:

In partnership with California Department of Fish and Game. Can you list the major functions of wetlands? How many endangered species live in the San Francisco Bay Area? Did you know that the Bay is actually an estuary? If you know the answer to any of these questions, please come out and share your knowledge. If not, we invite you to come learn about this special place where we all live!

What we'll be doing:

Volunteers will help remove invasive weeds and water native plants while the project leaders teach about the importance of the San Francisco estuary and the restoration work they do.

What you should know:

No experience necessary. Gloves, tools and instruction provided. Each event is led by Save The Bay staff certified in first aid and CPR. Expect to get dirty! Be prepared to be outdoors for the duration of the project. Dress in layers, bring a hat and rain jacket (if necessary), and wear close-toed shoes to protect your feet. Long pants are recommended, but not required. Unless of course it's sunny! Then bring wide brim hats and sunscreen. Please also bring your own full refillable water bottle and help us cut down on plastic waste. Snacks & water refills provided.
