Event Description:

They have been working on this garden for several years and need our help cleaning it up!

What we'll be doing:

Helping to maintain the garden area, from light weeding and planting to heavier work, like digging and lifting. Activities may include:

What you should know:

Tools will be provided. Feel free to bring gardening gloves. There will be bottled water supplied for the volunteers.

Volunteers can park for free for OFSCA Torii volunteer days if they tell the parking attendant that they are volunteering with "Oakland-Fukuoka Sister City Association (OFSCA) at the Torii garden". Be sure to give this complete information to the attendant; "JET" or incomplete Torii information will not work.

Torii Gate area adjacent to the Bonsai Garden in the Gardens at Lake Merritt - around the bend driving from 666 Bellevue which is the address of the Lakeside Park Garden Center
