Event Description:
Since April 2003, Operation: Care and Comfort has shipped over 711,000 pounds of care packages for distribution to Marine, Army, Air Force, Navy and Coast Guard personnel deployed in the conflict regions.
What we will be doing:
Join One Brick as we help assemble these care packages to be sent to "adopted" units of deployed U.S. military service members, serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other conflict regions. Operation Care & Comfort are currently supporting up to 200 units on a monthly basis.
Be sure to bring some money and join us after the event for food and more socializing!
Operation: Care and Comfort:
Operation: Care and Comfort was established in April 2003 when the three co-founders decided to combine their efforts to support military troops stationed in combat zones overseas. Starting in a garage in San Jose, they soon ran under the Silicon Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross and thrived. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of its founders and volunteers. OCC became an independent non-profit organization in July 2010. It exists to provide support and comfort to "adopted" units of deployed U.S. military service members serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other conflict regions by sending care packages containing needed items. They ship to these units on a quarterly basis until - when the supported troops return home - another unit is adopted to take their place.
