Event Description:
Help Restore Urban Wetlands!
Did you know that since 2005 at the corner of Irving Park and Oak Park Avenue there is a protected wetland area that has been described as a "undiscovered natural urban wonder"? Hawks, geese, coyotes and other species all make Dunning Read Conservation Area their home base. And One Brick is going to help the Friends of the Parks continue its mission to restore this area!
What we'll be doing
Come rain or shine, One Brick volunteers will be working on the trails and removing invasive species.
What you should know
FOTP will supply gloves, tools, sunscreen and bug spray. Volunteers should wear closed toe shoes and long pants/jeans.
Where to meet
Entrance to the area is north of Irving Park on Oak Park Ave.
