Event Description:
Hellyer County Park's Beautification Day provides volunteers the opportunity to help the park on a regular basis.
What we'll be doing:
Tasks may include non-native species removal, garden maintenance, storm damage clean-up and other beautification activities as needed. While cleanup will usually be the focus of each scheduled event, some people may be assigned to a task(s) that meets other park needs.
What you should know:
No special skills are required. Work gloves and pickup sticks are provided for cleanup events.
Where to Meet:
Volunteers meet at the San Juan Bautista group area near the ranger office.
Santa Clara County Parks:
The mission of the Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Department is to provide, protect and preserve regional parklands for the enjoyment, education and inspiration of this and future generations. Santa Clara County acquired its first parkland in 1924, purchasing 400 acres near Cupertino. In 1956, the Department of Parks and Recreation was formed. Currently, the regional parks system has expanded to 27 park units encompassing nearly 45,000 acres.
