Event Description:
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is planning an event in New York City called the Great Urban Race. Event participants can become St. Jude “Heroes†and fundraise for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude treats patients suffering from pediatric cancer, AIDS and other catastrophic diseases. The hospital’s daily operating costs hover around $1.5 million per day and no child is ever turned away from St. Jude for their family’s inability to pay for treatment.
What we'll be doing:
The clues remain a mystery until the day of the event. We will need volunteers to work the registration table before the event as well as assistance with set-up at the registration area. During the race we will station some volunteers at clue checkpoints to help guide event participants. We will also need volunteers to prepare the finish line area and check participants' clues and digital photos for completion at the end of the event. The event is a lot of fun and a great opportunity for volunteers to meet new people and experience NYC in a new way.
What you should know:
Please arrive at the start/finish venue by 10:30am, wearing comfortable shoes and weatherappropriate clothing. Be prepared to change into a blue cotton staff tshirt upon arrival. Our best volunteers are the ones who arrive with a smile and interact with our participants. It’s a fun-filled, fast paced day for participants, staff, and volunteers alike! You will be interacting with our 4 staff members, 20 other volunteers, and hundreds of participants all there to have a great time.
Where to Meet:
Please look for OneBrick Manager who will be wear a OneBrick logo/sticker. The location of the event is still TBD. Will provide more info as the time draws closer.
