Event Description:
Stege Marsh is one of the few remaining tidal marshes in central San Francisco Bay. It is also rare in that it is connected to scrubland and grassland habitats. The Watershed Project is working in partnership with UC Berkeley, community volunteers, and students from second grade through the University level to restore marsh and upland habitat. The restored marsh and the surrounding uplands will provide habitat for the endangered California clapper rail and a diversity of waterfowl and shorebirds, as well as other wildlife species. This winter, over 10,000 native plants will be installed. One Brick will be helping the Watershed Project weed newly established habitat and plant in the grassland around the edges of the marsh.
