Event Description:

DigniTea is the signature annual fundraiser for The Grateful Garment Project (TGGP). This year, the event features lunch, auctions, a wine pull, and raffle. There will be 25 beautifully themed tables, each decorated by a host, with seating for 8 guests per table, for a total of 200 guests.

What we'll be doing:

One Brick volunteers will assist TGGP staff with:
  • Serving food & beverages
  • Raffle and auction coordination
  • Event breakdown and cleanup

What you should know:

Please wear: 

  • White top and black bottoms  (no low cut tops, midriff-baring shirts, or political or offensive graphics please)
  • Comfortable shoes
  • Hair pulled back and secured
The event organizers are offering snacks and beverages to volunteers.
 

Where to Meet:

Volunteers can park anywhere in the community center parking lot. The entrance will be through the front entrance of the center (we'll have signs). Go to Volunteer Check-In sign and find Jenny with her One Brick clipboard.

Grateful Garment Project:

When sexual assault victims seek medical attention and rape kits are performed, those women, men and children are asked to surrender their clothing for DNA evidence. Once clothing has been surrendered, the traumatized victim has nothing else to wear home but a hospital gown…only adding insult to injury.

The Grateful Garment Project is proud to provide new clothing, food, grooming supplies and other vital resources to Sexual Assault Service Providers throughout the State of California via 6 core programs:
 
*Resource Closets for hospitals and rape facilities
*Resources for safe house and shelters for trafficking victims and sexually exploited children
*Emergency backpacks for Law Enforcement for human trafficking victims and children
*Gift cards for youth to encourage follow up appointments
*Gift cards for clients to purchase clothing for court appearance
*Improve substandard service provider facilities
 
Together, with your help, we can provide victims with the resources necessary to take the first step on the road to healing.
