Project Description & Community Benefit:

Volunteers will support our annual Farm2Market Harvest Festival, a vibrant, family-friendly event celebrating the fall season. Volunteers will assist with essential event operations—primarily focusing on Event Setup and Cleanup, as well as helping run activity and food stations such as craft tables, games, face painting, pumpkin decorating, the bounce slide, and fresh apple cider pressing from our farm orchard.

This community celebration is entirely free for residents of APC, BCC, and Operation Dignity, fostering connection, joy, and community spirit across our residential farm campus. (Note: General admission for the public is $5 per person, and volunteer donations are gratefully accepted to help support the expenses required to run our farm and community programs.)

Project History:

This is an ongoing annual community tradition hosted by Alameda Point Collaborative on our farm campus to celebrate the autumn harvest and bring residents, families, and supporters together.

What we'll be doing:

1:00 PM – 5:00 PM (Volunteers needed to take assist with cider pressing, games, craft/pumpkin decorating tables, and bounce slide monitoring) and take down decor, clear trash/recycling, and store equipment)

What you should know:

Please wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes suitable for an outdoor farm environment. Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated. Free parking is available on-site near the farm grounds.

Alameda Point Collaborative (APC):

Our Mission:

Alameda Point Collaborative’s mission is working to end homelessness by providing housing and services to create communities where formerly homeless families and individuals can flourish.

What We Do:

In 1999, APC transformed vacant military housing on the former Alameda Naval Air Station into a supportive housing community. APC now provides over 500 formerly homeless residents with the safety and stability of a place to call home.

Residents work with on-site case managers and counselors to break down barriers to stability. Residents may participate in our workforce development program and take advantage of our on-the-job training opportunities through our social enterprises.

Coexisting with two partner non-profit agencies, over 500 residents have easy access to life and job skills training, substance abuse and mental health counseling provided by a team of highly skilled professionals.

APC’s Children & Youth Services provide safe spaces for academic tutoring and enrichment activities to support the development of the youngest members of our community.
