A community celebration of creativity, connection, and compassion.
Join Kids & Art Foundation for Chalk2Heal, a free, family-friendly community event celebrating the healing power of creativity during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
On Saturday, September 26, Sunset Dunes Park at Ocean Beach will become a vibrant outdoor canvas as children, families, artists, and community members come together to create colorful sidewalk art in support of children navigating pediatric cancer.
Whether you’re an experienced artist or simply love to create, everyone is welcome. Bring your imagination, invite family and friends, and join us in transforming the park into a celebration of art, community, and childhood resilience.

Admission is free and open to all ages.
What to Expect:
- Sidewalk chalk art
- Giant bubble-making
- Face painting
- Family-friendly activities
- Community art
- Live entertainment
- Featured artwork by local artists
What we'll be doing:
We are looking for 6+ volunteers from 11:00 pm- 3:00 pm for final setup and event operations.
- Final setup of signs and event materials
- Assistance during the event including: Distribution of Chalk, Supervision and participant assistance (make sure chalk drawings are family friendly/appropriate)
- Help with the giant bubble stations
- Assist musicians and professional artists with any needs
What you should know:
Wear clothes you don't mind getting a little sandy and wear comfortable shoes. Dress for the San Francisco microclimates. In other words, expect a sudden change in weather at all times. Bring sun/ wind protection.
