On Sunday, August 2nd, Join Project Open Hand for Help is on the Way XXXII: Broadway and Beyond!

The Richmond/Ermet AID Foundation (REAF) is hosting their annual show, Help is on the Way, and is partnering with Project Open Hand to help us provide medically tailored meals to the community.

Join us for this special event featuring performances by the cast members from the Broadway Touring Cast of Beauty & The Beast, plus Alliana Yang, Leanne Borghesi, David Burnham, and Paula West!

We also need volunteers to help with ushering, silent auction monitoring and after-party service. Most of the volunteer shifts will enable you also watch the performance for free.

What we'll be doing:

Volunteers will choose their own role on the OFFICIAL VOLUNTEER LINK provided here and above in the Description box.

  • Cast & Crew Dinner Service (5 pm to 9:30 pm) - 2 spots
  • Silent Auction Monitor (6pm to 9pm) - 1 spot
  • Ushers & Live Auction Spotters (6pm to 9pm) - 3 spots
  • VIP Party (9pm to Midnight) - 4 spots

What you should know:

Volunteer attire ranges from all black to dressy!

All of the volunteer shifts will enable you to also watch the performance for free (from varied locations depending on your role).

Where to Meet:

Ken Henderson, the Executive Director of REAF, will email all volunteers with role-specifc instructions and location information.

Project Open Hand:

Meeting community nutrition needs through programs for people living with HIV/AIDS, the homebound critically ill, and seniors. Project Open Hand provides meals/groceries for people with symptomatic HIV/AIDS or breast cancer, meals for homebound/critically ill people under the age of 60 and congregate lunches for people over 60 years of age. Services are available to eligible clients living in San Francisco and Alameda counties, regardless of their race, color, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, disability or ability to pay.

Today, Project Open Hand prepares 2,500 nutritious meals daily and provides 200 bags of healthy groceries every day to help sustain our clients as they battle serious illnesses, isolation, or the health challenges of aging. We serve San Francisco and Oakland, engaging more than 125 volunteers daily to nourish our community.
