Event Description:

Providing Nutritious Food For Oakland Students and Families

Eat. Learn. Play. is excited to bring together our community for a meaningful morning of service at the Alameda County Community Food Bank (ACCFB). On Thursday, April 16, we invite volunteers to join us in supporting a shared goal: ensuring that kids and families in Oakland have reliable access to the healthy, nutritious food they need to thrive.

This volunteer shift is an opportunity to make a tangible difference alongside Eat. Learn. Play. partners, supporters and the dedicated ACCFB team. Together, you’ll play a direct role in preparing food that will be distributed to community organizations serving families across Alameda County.

Our Partnership:

ACCFB has been a longtime partner of Eat. Learn. Play., working closely with us to serve millions of meals during the COVID‑19 pandemic and continuing today as a key collaborator in operating the Eat. Learn. Play. Bus. Our partnership ensures that food access remains strong and consistent for the community year‑round—and this volunteer day is an extension of that shared commitment. Learn more about Eat. Learn. Play.’s Eat Pillar and its impact on food access

One Brick San Francisco Bay Area will be partnering with All Hands & Hearts and the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation for this project.

What we'll be doing:

Volunteers will spend the morning in the warehouse helping with hands-on, engaging tasks such as:

  • Sorting and bagging fresh produce
  • Organizing donated food drive items
  • Assembling individual food boxes for distribution to partner sites

Tasks are designed to be accessible, collaborative, and light-duty, with no heavy lifting required. Volunteers will complete a standard waiver upon arrival.

What you should know:

All registered participants will receive a t-shirt from the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation

Please wear clothes you don't mind getting a little bit dirty.  Please wear comfortable closed toe shoes. - Volunteers will not be allowed to participate if wearing any type of open toed footwear.

You are welcome to bring your own refillable water bottle.
