Event Description:

This holiday season, the heart of Chinatown transforms into a Winter Wonderland—where neighbors, families, and friends come together to share in the joy of the season.

Hop aboard Santa’s Choo-Choo Train as it winds through lantern-lit streets filled with festive snow, community resource booths, and free gifts & activities for the families. ​

Local small businesses and community groups bring the magic to life with free toys, warm coats, delicious treats, hearty meals, creative crafts, live entertainment for kids, and holiday cheer for all ages. Join us as we make new memories, uplift one another, and celebrate the spirit of a community that shines brightest when we come together.

Community volunteers are needed to help out.  There are 2 shifts available and the sign-in form will be sent to you upon your One Brick rsvp.  The shifts are 8am to 1pm and 12:30pm to 5:30pm.

What we'll be doing:

Join us in spreading holiday joy at Chinatown Winter Wonderland, hosted by ImaginAsian in partnership with Dear Community. We’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to help welcome families, assist with activities, and bring festive cheer to Chinatown San Francisco.

• Support booths, activities, toy or coat giveaways, etc.
• Help keep everything running smoothly

What you should know:

If you choose the 8am shift you'll be helping out with mainly set up so wear clothes you might not mind getting a little bit dirty.  You can bring gloves or hand protection at your own discretion.

A volunteer t-shirt is included with your volunteer registration.

Check in is at the ImaginAsian booth at roughly 715 Grant Avenue.  Additional information will be forwarded to you by a representative from Dear Community.

Dear Community:

OUR STORY

Dear Community is a group of activists that ignited in response to anti-Asian hate violence. We found each other in the midst of the pandemic through the shared passion of wanting to protect our community and elders. We are healing our community by curating safe space events that foster discourse while generating income for merchants fighting to survive. Our goal is to support Asian small business corridors that have disproportionately suffered from COVID-19 and racism. We are calling to attention the Asian American experience and we work to engage and inspire the community to join the movement.
