Event Description:

The Wender Weis Foundation for Children is an organization dedicated to helping kids build self-esteem and self-confidence is hosting its annual Holiday Heroes event. Holiday Heroes strives to connect at-risk children with professional athletes with the goal of providing the recipient children with hope & direction.

We will turn Oracle Park into a holiday wonderland for families and underserved children to enjoy a night of fun with celebrity athletes, alumni and team mascots from the host San Francisco Giants, the Athletics, Bay FC, the Golden State Valkyries, Golden State Warriors, San Francisco 49ers, San Jose Earthquakes, San Jose Sharks, Cal and Stanford (more) and activity stations (cookie decorating, snow globes, make-their-own stuffed animals are activations used in recent years). We are expecting approximately 1500 people to attend this fun-filled evening.

What we'll be doing:

Volunteers are needed to assist with Event Setup prior to the actual event

If the 10am to 3pm shift does not work for your schedule, there will also be a 12pm to 5pm shift available

What you should know:

Attire is warm and comfortable as you will be volunteering outdoors.  Please wear clothes you do not mind getting a little dirty.  Bring work gloves and back support if needed.  Some lifting required but we will be working in teams.

Please bring as little as possible as all volunteers will need to go thru the metal detectors and be processed by security at Oracle Park. Treat this as a game day event - no backpacks or large bags allowed (see image below).  There will be a designated staff/ volunteer room but it may not be secure.

Snacks and bottled water will be available for volunteers in the volunteer room.  If you have specific food allergies you are allowed to pack in your own meal.

Parking for volunteers may be included and a parking pass will be made available to you by the event producers if that is still the case.

Where to Meet:

Entry will be at the entrance at 2nd & King Streets. Registered volunteers will need to check in at this checkpoint.  Please bring a government issued ID with you for Oracle Park security.
