Event Description:

Founded in 1976, Kara is a nonprofit agency in Palo Alto that provides FREE services and support to grieving children, adults, families, and community organizations throughout the Bay Area.

On Saturday, May 3, 2025, Kara will host its Annual Spring Fundraiser at the Oshman Family Jewish Community Center in Palo Alto (3921 Fabian Way, 94303). Rather than our usual keynote speaker presentation, this year we will have a live band that will play two 30-minute dance sets around our live and fund-a-need auctions. The event closes at 7pm.

What we'll be doing:

One Brick volunteers' tasks iinclude selling raffle tickets, recording raffle and fund-a-need auction winners, running the winners' bid number info to the registration desk, and taking down Kara's event items (not chairs and tables) after the event. This is a fun, celebratory evening that allows OneBrick volunteers to work together and enables Kara to raise the funds needed for our critical bereavement support services in the current fiscal year.

What you should know:

Kara will provide snacks, dinner, and drinks for OneBrick volunteers, who will have a dedicated room to relax, store possessions, and enjoy their food.

Attire: Our event is California casual attire, so uniforms or all-blacks are NOT required. Jeans and sneakers are fine, but no shorts, please.

Volunteers are certainly welcome to listen to the band, which plays hits from the 70's to current day. Volunteers are also invited to join us on the dance floor!

Where to Meet:

We will meet volunteers at 3:30pm at the Registration tables in the Schultz Cultural Arts Hall for a brief venue and schedule overview before guests arrive at 4pm.
