Event Description:
Fiesta de Las Américas celebrates the independence of various Latin American countries and commemorates the culture, arts and music found from Patagonia to the Arctic Circle.
It highlights the unique Latino diaspora experience which has cemented the Latino Cultural District as the center of Latino activism, arts, commerce, and culture in San Francisco since the 1940’s.
Fiesta De Las Américas 2023 features:
- Community Vendors
- Low-rider Car show
- Folkloric Dance Performances
- Youth Zone
- Live Bands
What we'll be doing:
Volunteers will help with Festival Set Up. Tasks will include helping with decorations, help vendors locate their areas, set up garbage bins, and signage, and make sure all street barriers are in place. Help with the stage setup is also a possibility.

There is a mandatory volunteer orientation set up for either Tuesday, September 5, or Thursday, September 7, from 6pm to 7:30pm. If you can not attend please reach out to Tanya Reyes at fiestadelasamericas@calle24sf.org
All volunteers will receive an event t-shirt (please indicate size S to 2XL in the volunteer form above), food and water.
Where to Meet:
There will be a volunteer check in booth located near 24th Street and Harrison Street. Volunteers should meet here 30 minutes prior to the 9:00am shift start to receive their event t-shirt, water and additional instructions.

Calle 24 Latino Cultural District is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
Calle 24 is in the center of San Francisco’s Historic Mission District. It runs along a tree-lined street known as “El Corazón de la Misión”, or “The Heart of the Mission.” The stretch of 24th Street running from Mission Street to Potrero Avenue boasts a vast number of colorful and unique specialty stores, restaurants, taquerias, Mexican bakeries, fresh produce grocers, butchers, cafes, and art galleries, as well as the greatest concentration of murals and Latino Businesses in the city. We are the birthplace of Latin Rock and the birthplace of the San Francisco mural movement We host Carnaval, Dia De Los Muertos, Baile en La Calle, The Cesar Chavez Parade and Festival, and Fiesta de las Américas.
Calle 24 (formerly The Lower 24th Street Merchants and Neighbors Association) was created in 1999 by a group of long time residents, merchants, service providers and art organizations concerned with quality of life issues in the community. Our diverse membership consists of merchants and residents of different ethnic backgrounds, genders, lifestyles, and economic levels.
