Event Description:
Boston Landmarks Orchestra is a professional orchestra that builds community through great music as well as offering their concerts for free at the DCR Memorial Hatch Shell during the summer evenings. Landmarks frequently showcases works by voices who are sorely under-appreciated in orchestral music as well as well-known composers.
What we'll be doing:
There are a variety of tasks for volunteers before and after the concert each evening. Volunteers can expect to do some or all of the following: hang up and assist with virtual programs (QR codes), manage the Info table, assist people with lawn chairs, assist those with limited mobility, take survey of audience zip codes, collect donations, help pack up. Often there are other tasks that come up during the evening as well!
What you should know:
Volunteers will need to have the ability to stand for long periods of time and ability to lift lawn chairs. Volunteers should also be prepared with sunscreen and/or bug spray if needed since the concert is outdoors. It is strongly advised to bring water as our concerts are outdoors on hot summer days. Volunteers should plan on eating before the concert, or bring a picnic dinner. Volunteers will also be given a lanyard to wear, but are also asked to wear black if possible. Volunteers can store their belongings at the volunteer table, but please do not bring valuables unless they are kept on you at all times (wallets, cell phones, etc...).
Where to Meet:
Volunteers should meet at the Info tent at the DCR Memorial Hatch Shell at 5:30pm
