Event Description:

The Neponset River Cleanup will take place on April 23rd from 9am to 12pm. The event will take place at Joseph Finnegan Park, Dorchester.

The goal of this event is to make the Neponset, its tributaries, and surrounding green spaces clean and appealing places to recreate, while also reducing the harmful impact that trash has on the environment. This event welcomes people of all ages and skill levels. Enjoy the outdoors while helping your community! 

What we'll be doing:

On the day of the event, volunteers will have the opportunity to gather trash directly from the water, as well as from surrounding lands. They will arrive at their assigned site and then be directed by Site Captains. 

What you should know:

Please bring work gloves or trash grabbers if you have your own. Some will be provided by Site Captains. Come prepared to be outside, with sunscreen, bugspray, close-toed shoes, and water. Be aware that your clothes will likely get dirty!

The Event Manager will contact all volunteers to provide additional details on the meeting location as the event draws nearer.

Neponset River Watershed Association:

The Neponset River Watershed Association is a grassroots, member-supported conservation group working since 1967 to clean up and protect the Neponset River, its tributaries and surrounding watershed lands.


Our goal is a clean, healthy, accessible river and watershed, from the smallest headwater stream to the wide-open brackish water of the estuary.
