Event Description:

Volunteers are needed to help in serving dinner to about 250 local veterans who reside at the New England Center and Home for Veterans in downtown Boston.

What we'll be doing:

Volunteers will be utilized both behind the line serving a prepared meal to the veteran residents, assisting mobility-disabled veterans with their trays and providing wait-staff support in the dining hall. After a briefing from the kitchen staff beginning at 3:45 p.m., dinner will be served from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

What you should know:

Volunteers must sign up using the following link: http://onebrick.nechv.volunteerhub.com

Only volunteers with this link will be able to view and register for this event. 

Hair must be tied back. Baseball caps must be worn or paper kitchen caps will be provided. (No visors). Aprons and gloves will be provided. Casual attire is appropriate but no shorts, sleeveless shirts or tank tops. No open-toed shoes or sandals.

NOTE: This event is wheelchair accessible and is able to accommodate volunteers with disabilities. If you require any accommodations, please let the event manager know, so we can work with the nonprofit hosting the event to make necessary accommodations. Thank you!

Where to Meet:

Volunteers should arrive at 17 Court Street, enter through the doors, and check in at front desk. They will be directed to the dining service area where you should look for the One Brick Event Manager.  Parking is not available. The nearest MBTA stops are State Street (Orange/Blue), Government Center (Green/Blue) and Park Street (Red/Green). The Event Manager will contact all volunteer with more details about where to meet.
