Event Description:

Christmas in July is the biggest fundraiser of the year for Christmas in the Park.  This year's event is a Picnic Theme. An evening of dining, dancing, games and a live and silent auction.

 

What we'll be doing:

4:30pm onwards The majority of Volunteers checking-in guests, and later in the evening Checking-out guests with their Auction Items.

5:30pm to 10pm -  4 volunteers scooping and serving ice-cream in the inside ice-cream parlor. Masks will be required here.

8pm to 10pm - I will need 4 volunteers to check-out guests with Auction Items.

What you should know:

This is an outdoor event so wear comfortable clothing, please no skimpy shorts. Be prepared for heat, wind, and the chill of the evening. Don't forget the sunscreen, and bring a mask in the event thay end up being required.  There will be some standing and walking. Take a break when you need to; meals, snacks, and water will be provided....They will follow the county quidelines regarding masks.  Registration is outside, and distancing will be enforced.  Ice-cream parlor is indoors, with distancing enforced and additional ventilation for safety.

Volunteers are welcome to wear a mask if they choose. However in the ice-cream parlor masks will be required.

Where to Meet:

4:30pm Bay Area Glass Institute, 635 Phelan Ave.  If we have already left the parking lot, meet at the check-in tent.

Christmas in the Park:

The Christmas in the Park tradition began in 1950 as a small holiday display. Today, Plaza de Cesar Chavez is transformed into a holiday fantasy with over 60 musical and animated exhibits and glittering lights and the 55-foot City Christmas tree. It is funded through fundraising efforts by the volunteer Board of Directors and is open to the public free from 9 a.m. to midnight daily.
