Event Description:

Join us as we do the 2021 #PixInParks Santa Clara County Parks hikes!

We'll keep this event to a small manageable number so that we can ensure social distancing is respected during the hike.

What we'll be doing:

Santa Clara County Parks has set a 2021 challenge! They've hand picked seven magnificent hiking adventures, all nearby, to get you outside and experience new terrain and spectacular vistas.  And to entice you to hike the Magnificent 7, a commemorative t-shirt or bandana awaits those who complete the #PixInParks challenge!

What you should know:

Please ensure you have a mask to wear when encountering other people.

As the PixNParks version is really short we'll do this extended hike:

St Joseph’s Hill Open Space – Lexington Reservoir County Park

6.25 miles, 2.5-3 hours, a lot of the trails are uneven, strewn with rocks and stones so good hiking boots/shoes are strongly recommended

Meet in front of the Purple Onion Café, 26 E Main St Los Gatos 95030 and corner of College Ave. There is plenty of street parking around the area, time limits don’t apply on a Sunday.

We will start the hike by joining the Flume Trail, alongside the Main St bridge over Highway 17.

The Flume trail follows the Los Gatos Creek before climbing uphill.

Turn right on Jones trail

Turn left on Novitiate trail

Turn right on the second entrance to Manzanita trail, this leads to the highest point of the hike at the peak of St Joseph’s hill, descending from the peak we will encounter the PixinParks photo stop

Turn left on Novitiate trail

Turn left on Jones trail and proceed down to Alma Bridge Rd and Lexington reservoir

Follow the Los Gatos Creek trail back to finish in downtown Los Gatos

Where to Meet:

Meet in front of the Purple Onion Café, 26 E Main St Los Gatos 95030
