Event Description:

Help Habitat as we build Emergency Sleeping Cabins as part of San Jose's Bridge Housing Communities project.

What we'll be doing:

Join Habitat as we partner with the City of San Jose and HomeFirst Services to build Emergency Sleeping Cabins for local homeless residents.  Bridge Housing Communities will provide an interim housing option that provides adult individuals with a safe, private and secure community to build their civic engagement and self-sufficiency skills while searching for permanent housing.  Join us as we build innovative housing solutions!

What you should know:

No Experience Necessary! Our group of dedicated Habitat staff, amazing AmeriCorps Crew Leaders, and fellow Habitat volunteers will teach you all you need to know. Whether you join us after never picking up a hammer, experience as a tradesperson, or somewhere in between, sign up to volunteer with us to learn new skills, have fun, and support affordable housing!

Wear work clothes and sturdy, close-toed shoes. Bring a lunch (if applicable to your shift timing) and a refillable water bottle. Any necessary tools, safety equipment, and training are provided on your volunteer day.
