Event Description:

Mobile Markets enable GBFB to deliver high-quality, perishable food directly to partner sites in order to reach isolated communities and populations at high-risk of hunger. This food is brought in on our refrigerated trucks and set up on tables in the style of a farmer's market. Clients 'shop' at each table, choosing from a diverse selection of fresh produce, dairy products, and high-protein items.

Volunteers play an integral role in the program, helping with all aspects of unloading, set up, distribution of food, and breakdown.

What you should know:

In addition to signing up on the One Brick website, all volunteers need to register with Greater Boston Food Bank using the fokllowing URL:  https://gbfb.secure.force.com/volunteer/VolunteerPortal_Registration_Individual?shift=a010W00000vIRsjQAG

Please confirm with the event manager that you have completed the GBFB registration.  Please let us know if you need to UnRSVP so we can make your slot available to another volunteer.

The Somerville market takes place outside in a parking lot so please dress for the weather. Please wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip flops). Keep in mind that the market is not a GBFB location but a partner sits which could be a school, community center, assisted living center, etc.
