Join Street Samaritans for their 2nd Annual Open Hearts Gala at the renown TAO Chicago on Saturday, November 23rd
Street Samaritans is proud to host this benefit in the heart of River North and raise funds for Chicago's Homeless. Help to grow their mission: "Give, Educate, Connect" and bring more awareness, support, human connection and impactful change for those facing homelessness.
What we'll be doing:
We're looking for volunteers to help us with the following duties:
- set-up
- decorations
- event prep
- greeting and checking in guests
- seating guests
- managing the silent auction process
- handing out promotional materials
- answering questions and directing guests
- takedown and clean-up
What you should know:
Dress code: Red/Black dress or black suit with red/black bow tie or red/black tie
Alternative options for men: Possible options discussed include: (1) a black dress shirt; (2) a white dress shirt, black tie, and black dress pants; and (3) a navy blue suit.

Street Samaritans:
Street Samaritans strives to provide human connection and grassroots outreach to those less fortunate living without shelter and means to thrive. At Street Samaritans, we gather as a social community of volunteers to connect communities through charitable giving, raising awareness of the realities of homelessness, and serving those in need.
Street Samaritans is a Chicagoland-based 501(c)3 tax-exempt nonprofit organization that focuses on direct impact through:
- Human connection with the homeless through street team outreach
- Educating the general public on causes and true nature of homelessness, as well as fostering good social citizenship and public stewardship
- Promoting awareness of independent outreach in our communities
- Collecting essential items, such as food, toiletries and clothing for street teams to hand deliver
- Bringing volunteers together to connect and generate new ideas on alleviating homelessness
- Organizing care package drives and social events to fundraise for the homeless cause
- Partnering with adjacent nonprofit organizations to extend reach and deliver impact more effectively with joint hands
- Collecting critical data on homeless’ demographics and backgrounds
- Partnering with local businesses to drive community involvement and collaboration
- Developing innovative programs to bring lasting change in alleviating homelessness
