Event Description:
One Brick NOLA Planting day at Woodlands Trail with the Woodlands Conservancy
We'll be meeting at the Trailhead at 10:30am and hiking in to the planting site by 11:00am After a quick demonstration on planting, we will have a picnic lunch, then begin planting trees until we hike out of the property by 3:00pm. Please bring your own picnic lunch, snacks, and and reusable water bottle.
What we'll be doing:
We will be hiking to the planting site, having a rustic picnic lunch, planting native trees, and hiking back.
What you should know:
The planting site tends to be very muddy so the Conservancy recommends wearing hiking boots or at least old sneakers (rubber boots are not recommended as they are difficult to hike in). The Conservancy will provide planting tools and garden gloves for everyone
DEET or Picaridin bug spray is recommended
There are no restroom facilities at the site so please use facilities before arriving
Bring your own lunch for the picnic,snacks, and and reusable water bottle. You will need to carry your provisions on you for the hike, so pack approriately. The conservancy will provide water.
The site is not handicap accessible, or pet friendly
Where to Meet:
Follow GPS to 700 Delacroix Rd. There will be an expanded gravel/dirt area for parking at the trailhead. We will gather at the trailhead before starting our hike.
