Event Description:

The Last Saturday Food Distribution is a monthly event, which usually takes place on the last Saturday of every month (exception being the Nov/Dec joined holiday distribution). Volunteers will be helping bag non-perishable food and produce and then help distribute those to clients at the site.

The event is held rain or shine and as part of the event will be outside, please dress appropriately for the weather.

Where to Meet:

When facing the Rec Center, find the entrance to the far left and enter. Walk across the hall to the room in front of you with tables and groceries set up, where you will meet your One Brick Event Manager.

ALIVE! (ALexandrians InVolved Ecumenically) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization of volunteers from nearly 40 religious congregations and the community working together to help those in need in Alexandria, Virginia. Founded in 1969, ALIVE! is the largest private safety net for the needy in the city of Alexandria, addressing short-term to long-term needs for those less fortunate in the community. ALIVE! serves over 12,000 Alexandrians annually with shelter; low-cost early childhood education and childcare; financial help for rent, utilities, medical care and other critical needs; emergency food; and deliveries of donated furniture and housewares.
