Event Description:

John Eaton is a diverse and consistently top-performing elementary public school in Washington D.C.  100% of the proceeds from the auction are used to fund programs vital to John Eaton's success, such as Literacy, Technology Education, Culture Exploration, Arts Education and more. The school's involved and active parent body supports the Home and School Association with financial contributions, but it is not enough to cover all of the programs necessary for this top-notch, well-rounded, public education.

What we'll be doing:

Volunteers will be split into 3 groups as you are needed to help at the registration desk, the silent auction, the sale of raffle tickets/grab bags, and to help with keeping the buffet stocked and the buffets and tables clean.

• Registration Activities include greeting folks, helping them check in, passing out the event floor plan.

• Auction Activities include helping to manage the flow around the silent auction items, helping to monitor the timing of when each bidding section closes, providing verbal warnings that the section is closing, and pulling the bid sheets to hand off to the back of the house folks processing sales.

• Food service entails helping to keep food circulating to the buffet, pulling empty food trays, general clean up in the kitchen, and keeping the food service area clean and presentable.

What you should know:

Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes as you will be on your feet. There will be plenty of food and beverages and volunteers are welcome to eat and drink.

The theme this year is ''Love Boat'' so feel free to have some fun and dress up like you're working on a cruise ship!

**This is a 21 and over event. No minors are allowed as the license to serve alcohol prohibits anyone under 21 from being on the premises.**

Volunteers meet at the registration table that will be set up at the front doors!
