Event Description:
More Than Words empowers young people ages 16-21 who are court involved, homeless, in the foster care system, or out of school to take control of their lives by taking control of a business. We operate an online book business, as well as a brick-and-mortar bookstore in the South End. (www.mtwyouth.org)
What we'll be doing:
Volunteers will have a youth-led tour of the business, and then work alongside youth in various projects to support the daily operations such as prescanning and sorting donated books and organizing store displays.
What you should know:
Volunteers should wear comfortable clothing that they don't mind getting dirty--donations come in all sorts of conditions and our basement can be very dusty!
NOTE: This event is wheelchair accessible and is able to accommodate volunteers with disabilities. If you require any accommodations, please let the event manager know, so we can work with the nonprofit hosting the event to make necessary accommodations. Thank you!
Where to Meet:
Please arrive at More Than Words at 242 E. Berkeley Street, Boston MA 02118 at 11 a.m.
