Event Description:

The Homeless Children's Playtime Project (HCPP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting childhood for families in shelter and transitional housing programs. Dedicated weekly volunteers run evening play programs for babies through teenagers at 4 family homeless shelters in DC. The play programs promote imagination, creativity, physical activity, learning, and joy! Parents enjoy valuable respite to take care of personal business or attend life skills or GED classes knowing that their children are safe at Playtime. In addition to weeknight programs, Playtime Project provides youth with field trips and healthy snacks, and works with parents to address related needs. Each year we reach about 700 youth experiencing homelessness.

What we'll be doing:

As a volunteer with One Brick, you'll help clean one of our playrooms, so that children can play safely and in a healthy environment.

What you should know:

This location is very close to the Columbia Heights Metro Station!

Where to Meet:

When you're facing the building, there are 3 entrances. Volunteers should go through the gate and up to the center door. There you will gather with your One Brick Event Manager. This EM will call our contact at HCPP to be directed to the playroom for the event. Please arrive a couple of minutes early or on time to ensure that you're led where you need to be! :)
