Event Description:
Come help our expert County Parks Trail Crew with new trail construction, tread work and brushing. Work along some of the most beautiful and pristine trails in Santa Clara Valley while learning the art and science of professional trail work.
What we'll be doing:
This work day will take place at Montalvo. Once the grand estate of Senator James Phelan, this 137 acre park offers a peaceful environment among formal gardens and miles of hiking trails within the park grounds.
What you should know:
No special skills are required but the work may be moderately strenuous. Tools, work gloves and snacks are provided; please bring your own water bottle (we can refill your bottle but to eliminate waste we no longer provide bottled water). This is a rain or shine event: sturdy hiking shoes, long pants and long sleeve shirt and sun or rain protection are highly recommended.
Where to Meet:
The meeting place remains TBD and will be announced to preregistered volunteers.
