Event Description:
Join the Santa Clara County Park staff in a day of service honoring Martin Luther King, Jr. Volunteers will work closely with expert park staff and learn the art and science behind trail maintenance as they make improvements to the Sanborn and San Andreas trail junction.
What you should know:
No special skills are required but the work may be moderately strenuous. Tools, work gloves and snacks are provided, but it's recommended that you bring your own work gloves and water bottle (we can refill your bottle). Sturdy hiking shoes, long pants and long sleeve shirt and sun or rain protection are highly recommended.
Where to Meet:
Volunteers will meet park staff at 9:00 a.m. at the Sunnyvale Mountain trailhead. DO NOT GO TO SANBORN PARK ENTRANCE.
Driving instructions:
From Interstate 280 in Santa Clara County, exit #7 Saratoga Avenue. Drive west on Saratoga Avenue, then in Saratoga, pick up CA 9 (Big Basin Way) heading west. At the junction with CA 35 at Saratoga Gap, turn left (south). Drive about 4.5 miles south on Skyline Boulevard (CA 35) to the unsigned Sunnyvale Mountain trailhead on the left side of the road (an emergency callbox stands at the driveway to the parking lot).
