Brief Biography: Since 1982, Support for Families of Children with Disabilities has offered information, education, and parent-to-parent support free of charge to families of children with any kind of disability or special health care need in San Francisco.

Our Mission: Our purpose is to ensure that families of children with any kind of disability or special health care need have the knowledge and support to make informed choices that enhance their child’s development and well-being. Through fostering partnership among families, professionals and the community our children can flourish.
Purpose of Event: Wine+Design is our biggest fundraising event of the year. The purpose of this gala event, which includes wine, an awards ceremony, and live and silent auction, is to raise much needed funds for Support for Families.
What we'll be doing:
We will be helping at the Annual Gala and Action put on by Families of Children with Disabilities, which helps to raise much needed funds for SFCD. We will help with Guest check-in, Raffle sales, Greeters, Live auction help, Data-entry help, Bid-sheet processing, checking out (assist with guest payment), assemble guest auction purchases and clean-up/load-in.
What you should know:
The event is dressy, but not formal. Business attire for men, women usually wear cocktail dresses or pant suit/skirt. There is limited street parking and paid parking lots, but many free spaces open up in the afternoon. Light refreshments and beverages will be available to volunteers.

Founded in 1982, Support for Families is a parent-run San Francisco-based nonprofit organization. They support families of children with any kind of disability or special healthcare need as they face challenges. Their purpose is to ensure that families of children with any kind of disability or special health care need have the knowledge and assistance they need to make informed choices that support their child's health, education and development. They provide peer support to families, and information and education to families, professionals and the community at large.
